چکیده

Abstract During drilling fluid preparation, ultrasonic oscillations were introduced into water-bentonite suspension incorporating sulfonated wood coal (SMC) by a specially designed device. The influences of on loss and rheological performances the as well mechanism action investigated. experimental results showed that filtrate volume decreased with increase time till certain extent then leveled off. In presence ultrasound, shorter 15 min mild intensity 250 W could lead to satisfactory result in properties, including reasonable thin compact filter cakes. With increasing intensity, properties changed relatively little but various data fluids always increased. Adsorption tests through total organic carbon, infrared spectrum thermogravimetic analyses clay particle size analysis confirmed compared conventional agitation, ultrasound-assisted mud preparation not only adsorbed amount SMC bentonite also decrease average diameter attributed acoustic cavitation. A plausible based sonochemical thermodynamics is proposed explain improvement colloidal structure fluid.

Ultrasonic emissions reveal individual cavitation bubbles in water-stressed wood.

Under drought conditions, the xylem of trees that conducts ascending sap produces ultrasonic emissions whose exact origin is not clear. We introduce a new method to record simultaneously both acoustic events and optical observation of the xylem conduits within slices of wood that were embedded in a transparent material setting a hydric stress. In this article, we resolved the rapid development ...

Mechanical Properties of Plastic Concrete Containing Bentonite

Plastic concrete consists of aggregates, cement, water and bentonite, mixed at a high water cement ratio, to produce a ductile material. It is used for creating an impermeable barrier (cut-off wall) for containment of contaminated sites or seepage control in highly permeable dam foundations. The effects of water to binder ratio and clay dosage on mechanical properties of plastic concrete were i...

Direct synthesis of sulfonated azacalixarenes in water.

Successive treatment of cyanuric chloride with two aromatic diamines, at least one of them sulfonated, yields water-soluble sulfonated azacalix[4]arenes which may be isolated by crystallisation. Functionalised azacalixarenes may be made by first displacing two chloro substituents from the cyclisation precursor. Attempted formation of an azacalix[6]arene led to a dimeric species for which two st...

Synthesis of novel water-soluble sulfonated cellulose.

Water-soluble sulfonated cellulose (SC) samples were synthesized by oxidizing hardwood kraft pulp with sodium periodate followed by the sulfonation reaction with sodium bisulfite. Six levels of oxidation/sulfonation were obtained by using different mmols (0.93-4.67) of periodate per gram of pulp. The aldehyde and sulfonic acid contents, surface morphology, and water solubility property of these...

Ultrasonic Phytosanitation of Pinewood Nematode Infected Wood

Pinewood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) mortality was investigated after ultrasonic treatment at 20 and 40 kHz frequency. Experiments were conducted with infected small wood specimens that were ultrasonically treated for 1, 3, 5 and 7 hours and two variable temperature conditions, namely, a gradually increasing from ambient to a maximum of 70oC and a decreasing from ambient to a minimum ...
